What is my approach?
I primarily offer supportive psychodynamic therapy. Supportive psychodynamic therapy provides a warm, flexible, and judgment-free space to explore different dimensions of your personality, your thoughts, and your feelings. Through this self-knowledge, you can begin to live a more authentic and gratifying life. As part of this process, symptoms of despair, hopelessness, and anxiety often begin to dissipate, leaving you feeling more “at ease” in your own skin.
Although my approach is primarily psychodynamic, I use cognitive behavioral approaches to help people experience more immediate relief around symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and social anxiety. This approach is more directive and includes work between sessions and encourages you to gradually face and overcome your fears. It is aimed at addressing very specific symptoms that are interfering with your everyday life.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are between 45 minutes and one hour, and they take place on a secure video platform. You will be emailed a HIPAA compliant link to your teletherapy platform before each session.
What is your fee and do you accept insurance?
My fee is flexible and varies depending on each individual's needs, and the type of therapy they are seeking. Please feel free to call me and we can discuss how to receive affordable care.
I currently do not accept insurance and am an out-of-network provider. This means your insurance may reimburse you for some portion of the session fee. Dealing with insurance can be complicated, and I will be more than happy to walk you through how the reimbursement process usually works. We can discuss this in more detail during our initial consultation.
What is your cancellation policy?
I recognize life happens, and unplanned circumstances arise. With that in mind I hold a 48-hour cancelation policy, where you can cancel a session 48 hours before with no charge.
How often will we meet?
It is recommended that therapy takes place on a weekly basis, to provide a regular space to work on goals and to continue to deepen your self-exploration. With that said, biweekly sessions will be considered for financial or other circumstances on a case-by-case basis. I will reserve a weekly time slot for our sessions. I will try and be flexible if possible, but due to limited availability, I would prefer to keep to the regularly scheduled time slot.
